Yes, I always have new ideas and plans for new books! I am currently working on another book for the Brandon Jones series, and new additional workbooks, as well.

I think about the topics students will learn in school and try to see if I can create an interesting story to help make learning about that topic fun. Often times, I ask my son, Brandon, for ideas on what kids his age would like to read about.

Well, it depends. For some books, I may have to gather and research information before writing, and that may take a while. Although I create fictional stories, I like for them to be factual and realistic. Typically, with writing, editing, and obtaining the artwork/illustrations, it takes several months to a year to publish a book.

I had a lot of favorite books growing up! I absolutely loved series, like Nancy Drew, Cam Jansen, Sweet Valley High, The Babysitter's Club, and Encyclopedia Brown. I also really ejoyed A Wrinkle in Time, Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry, and a few others.

Brandon (age 8) also loves reading a lot of book series. Some of his favorite series right now are Diary of a Wimpy Kid books, A to Z Mystery, Junie B. Jones, Nancy Drew and the Clue Crew, I Survived, The Hardy Boys, and STAT, written by Amare Stoudemire.

The very first thing I would suggest would be to pick up a pencil and paper, and just start writing! Growing up I always wrote different short stories and poems. The more you write, the more practice you are able to put towards your final piece.

My favorite subject was Math... mainly because I became pretty good in it.
